Adulting – Overcoming Failure to Launch

As an Executive Functions Life Coach with more than 20 years of organizational experience, I nurture and support young adults as they navigate life’s transitions. I help them address challenges that if left unaddressed, could leave them feeling overwhelmed and stuck.

By working one-on-one, I provide clearly defined steps to follow, allowing them to transition to the next level of function and awareness. After the initial consultation, I work with parents and clients to determine the amount of weekly sessions and length of time to best meet their needs and budget moving forward.

I begin with Time Management and Calendaring. Once this is established, I continue weekly session(s) to review what is working and what needs to be broken down further to help maintain ongoing success. We then decide what is next as we move on to more complex Executive Functions and problem solving challenges.

By providing ongoing structure, I’m able to offer support and guidance, allowing parents to provide additional support for their child when needed. Working as a team with parents, therapists, and other significant individuals offers the young adult a cohesive and healthy way to build life skills at their own pace.

She has also counseled me, and has encouraged me to create a relationship with my healthy, adult son.”

“In the last six months, I have witnessed my adult son’s sustained progress in navigating life challenges while simultaneously constructing goals to advance meaningful engagement in family, social and professional life.

Throughout this time, and as his life coach, Jamie has steadily provided personal insight, equanimity, professionalism, and candor – all beacon lights for a holistic, transformative process. In my experience with other consultants – e.g., private counselors, educational and/or behavioral support programs – she has no peer.”
